What is the process for Gorkha Dakshin Bahu application for PhD holder from US? Where should I go and what should I do?

If you are a PHD holder form USA then you should not ask such questions here. PHDs are expert in researching about stuff no matter how long it takes 5 years 10 years 25 years. So you know what to do yourself better than sajha fellows.

If I'm not mistaken, you are talking about Mahendra Vidhya Bhusan (KA) which used to be conferred on Sikchhya Diwas (Falgun 12 gate). I don't know what is this medal called these days but they still award it on this day. I think if you contact Ministry of Education, you might be able to get some information in this regard.

It looks like just getting an accrediation from Nepal Education Ministry for your PHD degree. They making sure that you did not do PHD from fake university. Like your education from Nepal is reevaluated in America.

That takma looks like a part of convocation robes with 3 blue stripes and a round cap nothing more than that. . It looks like in Nepal to give takma to all PHDs is a custom. Different countries have different ways of awarding degrees to different levels of education. To earn that, you need a degree thats it, I guess.

For eg, in bachelors degree, you don't get to wear that V-stole, only if you get masters degree. For me that takma is same as V-stole which you get after PHD.

I don't have a PHD and I prolly won't work on that ever but this originator buddy wants recognition of his hard work and time if possible from Nepal .....nothing wrong with that!

तक्मा पाउने नै त्येस्तो सोख भए पसल बाट तक्मा किनेर लाएनि भो 
कि मा पी एच दि भनेर ध्वाँस फुक्न मन लाग्यो? त्येसो भएमा घाती मा सर्टिफिकेटको माला लाएनि भो

I don't have a PHD, but I can say this with certainty that those who are criticizing the ones who want the takma, don't have and are nowhere near getting the PHD. I understand that it doesn't hold much meaning and importance in today's context; but why the heck are some people hell bent on mocking those who apply for it? They want to get some sort of extra "endorsement" from the government, nothing wrong with that. Khaali khutta tanne matra?

Extra endorsement , v-tshirt aadi etyadi ta nam ko aagadi DR rakhna permission, US ko university ley convocation garera dei halchha ni, pheri yo Nepali takma ko lov chai PHD wala ko typical quality na hunu parna hoo.
