Folks,
I am planning to travel to Nepal soon on TPS Travel document, and was wondering if others have done the same recently. If yes, please share your experience. My visa expired several years ago, but I have always maintained my legal status here in the US. Do I have to go to American Embassy in Nepal to get visa ? How did the immigration staffs at the TIA reacted ?

What is your current immigration status other than TPS? If you are in F-1, go ahead and apply for a visa at the embassy. If they deny you visa, you can still use your tps ap to re-enter. Nowadays, official at TIA know what Ap looks like so it will be less hassle. Some ignorant will ask you, tapai ko gc khoi? Tapai ko visa khoi? Ask to see a supervisor in that case.
I recently travelled with tps ap, and it was a breeze. I was out of status for many years and currently was in removal proceedings before tps. After i got tps, i closed my case with the immigration court and traveled. US POE is super chill, wait in cbp room for 5-10 minutes and get your AP stamped. I wasn't asked where i went n how long. The only question i got asked was, did u see a judge?

Thanks Furke for the quick response.
I finished my Masters last January. Instead of applying for OPT, I opted for TPS.
I don't think I will be considered F1.

I did traveled using AP and I did not have any issue anywhere. I have maintained my status, so I guess I did not have any issue at all. So, in your case you should be fine. Make sure to get all necessary documents and enjoy the trip!!

@furkey, where were you on removal proceedings? Is it because you were out of status or your asylum was proceeded to IMmigration court?
