My computer freezes up sometime and cursor does not move ,stops working while running .The only option is  to switch the power off..Also, Battery doesnot go longer than 15 minutes.Buying another computer is not an option before graduation and geting job. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

backup your files... format computer and re-install windows...

as far as battery.. ur battery is dead... its normal for battery to die after 2 years or so.

check your PC fan. How hot is your pc before it get freeze. If it is really hot than normal pc  then your pc has problem on fan .  But if your fan is normal, please reinstall OS and try.

I did formating once it did not help.

Fan is not that hot .sometime it freezes up right away when I start using.

if its dell, back up everything,hit ctrl F11 and do the system recovery.use small brush to clean up the dust which prevents the air flow.if it is dell and abt 3-4 years old, then the battery lasts like that 15 min, all u can do is buy new battery.
