I have Green Card and am married. My wife is here on F1 Visa. My GC petition for her is already approved. Since the date is not current yet, she was unable to file I-485. On the mean time I will become US citizen next month (hopefully).

My question are:

1. After I become US citizen can she immediately file I-485 with already approved I-130 petition?

2. Do we need to complete any other process before filing I-485?

 Logically No.  You need to file I-130 again as US citizen.  Should not take too long, though ..

If you have recent experience, how long it takes to get I-130 approved filed by US citizen on behalf of spouse?

 

u need a new I-130 and should be approved within 8 months.. and 485 should take another few months..

the wholething should take max 1 year if all goes well.

Thank you Latoboy! 1-130 was filed in Oct 07 and still not heard the approval. Case status on line is showing - currently processing  from July 30, 2007. How often online case status is updated? any idea?

so u have approx 3 more months before they will touch your i130 case.

On line status just got updated and now processing for Sept 3, 207.
