 anybody there as linux system admin??? i worked for fedex and they have their own commands and all that so kinda life is tough... help appreciated ...

issue is I didn't even got their question.... for example
* please deploy the following to all stage.
-ngps*servers in support of MTP on 9/03 (CHMO14550) /pub/aug13/ngps_1.0j2ee.all.CHMO14550.03SEP13.tar - /opt/soft.


any idea and how to work on it????

What else do you know about the system? If you have just joined the job they are probably looking how you are approaching the problem. There is nothing that can be done here without understanding their system and deployment procedure. Ask for documentation.

If there is nothing more to understand, I would just go to each if the stage server, then do:
#cd /pub/soft
#tar -xzvf /path-to-your-tar-file/tarfile

Again if you really want to be Linux admin know what is actually happening here by deploying by deploying this code.

 Your info is not sufficient. Looks you are supposed to uncompress/deploy following tarball -

 /pub/aug13/
ngps_1.0j2ee.all.CHMO14550.03SEP13.tar

to following destination -

/opt/soft

Do that in all staging servers (ngps* servers??).
