 Applying for TPS EAD while TPS approval still pending

Hello, I had applied for TPS back in December of 2015 and did not apply for a TPS EAD back then because I had applied for and received OPT EAD which is valid through February 2016. My TPS approval is still pending. The last notice I received was for a RFE a week ago, for which I have already responded and the USCIS case status page shows that they have received my package and are working on it.
I was looking to apply for a TPS EAD very soon as I'm afraid it might take a long time before I receive an EAD card and I might not get it before my OPT EAD expires.
My question is, can I apply for TPS EAD at this moment (as my TPS approval is still pending) and if so what documents would I need to send?
