Wanted to know from your experience on how long does it take after the immigrant visa is approved during the interview for them to return the passport/documents? I heard some bank like Investment bank handles that process and can take up to 2-3 weeks but in embassy related website, it says, passport will be returned in few days.
I was hoping to bring my spouse as soon as they hand back her passport and was hoping it to be like 2-4 business days and not 2-3 weeks.

My visa was approved on thursday..and it was ready for collection in monday..2 business day..almost..

I think you will get an email saying your passport is ready for pickup. I got my passport 2 days after the interview.

Not sure about dependent applicants, but after my h1b interview, i collected my passport in 3 business days during march 2018.

I got mine in a week ..it wont take more than a week though they say 2 to 4 weeks

My spouse got the visa Thursday, 3/8/18 approved.
From the response, hoping the confirmation will come by next mid-week.
Damn, it has been a long wait for this immigrant visa, 2yrs4mths; finally over :)
