I have a family visiting from Nepal. I want to take them to Canada for a week. Do you guys have any information whether Nepalease w/B1 visa can apply for Canadian visitor visa? Also, if they can, any information regarding paper works will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Applying Canadian visa in USA is stupid (at least as per my
experience). I was in US
trip with 5 yrs visitor visa and my uncle advised me to apply for Canadian visa
from Nepal
but due to time limitation I couldn’t make it. My visa at Canadian consulate of
Los Angeles was
rejected 2 times in a row through I was a very genuine visitor and had all
required documents. The reason they mentioned was "I am not convinced that
you will return to home country after temporary visit to Canada). Since
this was not face-to-face interview, I couldn’t even say anything. Came to know
from some people that many Nepalese from USA
move to Canada
and file Asylum. I am not sure if this is true. But for me this was first
country which refused visa. I have been to over 10 countries USA, Australia and many European
countries but this was not counted at all.

My advise is, if your family is not already in USA,
ask them to apply for canadian visa from Nepal
before flying to USA.

We went to Detroit consulate last year. Had no problems at all. At the counter where we submitted the document, the guy wrote "Son on H1B" on my father's application. Everything was done in 1 hr. Me, my wife and my father - all of us got the visa. The list of documents we presented are maintained in the link below.
