Hello friends,
I am GC holder and I am filling taxes. In all my W2 forms, I was single but now I am married who doesn't have
SSN nor tax ID. I already filed form I130 where I mentioned he works. Now I have doubt that is it okay to file my tax as single
Or as married and ask my spouse to file his tax also (but he works in cash).
Please suggestion me or should I talk with my lawyer?
Any input would be much appreciated.
Thank you

HOw come you dont have SSN if you are a GC holder?
You can file a joint tax if you were married on 2013.
It doesnt matter if your W2 states that you were single.
Please file  "jointly" since it will help you have more return ( provided you both have SSN).
Else, please get free consultation from hrblock. Present all your situation and be honest. You dont have to pay unless you are willing to file tax via hrblock. They are good.

Hello no_more_ crush
Thank you for the reply but I guess you didn't understand my question much. I am GC holder and I do have SSN but I am talking about my spouse who doesn't have SSN or tax ID.
Thanks and hope to get some more suggestions.

Nepali fan,
Paper file joint return (married filing jointly) to IRS. Also, fill out form W-7 to get ITIN for your spouse.

Like i mentioned earlier, please get free consultation from hrblock( physical location).
You dont have to mention about your husband (cash ma kaam gareko bhanera). Rest it should be fine and they should take care of it.
