I am tired of consultancy. Looking for PHD in BioInformatics . I have Master GPA 3.92 and GRE 1350. Any good school that provides assistantship easily?

SachhaNepali, Because Bioinformatics is a new field, it is very difficult to get "Bioinformatics" department in Universities. You haven't described your background, but I assume you have computer science background. So I think you should try to find out professors who are doing bioinformatcs and try applying to that department. In my university there are only three bioinformatics professors that I am aware of. But because it is an emerging field, most of the professors with biology background want to utilize it. I have seen them hiring computer science majors as technicians or grad students. Based on your scores, I think you should get assistantship easily in good universities. Sparty
