Hey,

SAP is the leader in Business software solutions. (You can google to know more insights about it-history,technology,benefits,salary etc).
Anyone with COmputer Sci/Engg/IT can do it and there are some universities in USA like www.mst.edu that has ties with SAP Co. and provides accredited BS/MS course in ERP systems(SAP) along with SAP certificate of Excellence from SAP America ,Inc.

eklojyan,
check the topic "If you are wondering what is SAP?" in sajha.
SAP is good field but needs hard work, dedication and patience.
It is not easy to enter this field. There are numerous areas in SAP and it is best advised to focus in one or very few.
Best way is to google as much as you can to know more details of it and to see what suits to you.
