Does anybody know whether Nepali Nationality needs transit visa at the HongKong Airport? Layover is like 5 hours. Leaving NY through CatheyPacific and taking DragonAir from the HongKong to Nepal. Thanks!

If u are traveling by Cathay Pacific then u don't need a transit visa, but no other airline is authorized to take a nepali thru HK without one. So you will need a transit visa if you are traveling with any other airline. Which means that if you get delayed and miss your flight like i did, you will have to get a visa (takes at least a week) or wait for the next CP flight.

Pokhari You don't need transit visa as a Nepali as long as your transit time is less than 24 hrs. , no matter which airlines you take.

Thank you kooltiger, you are right. Just posting what I have found from my searching -Nepali does not need visa only if you are travelling through Cathey pacific/Dragon air in and out of Hongkong. For both in and out from Hongkong need to be one of those two airlines.- Maalpani, your information is wrong. Nepali needs transit visa for Hongkong for any transit time in HongKong unless as mentioned above.
