The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an interim order in the name of all affiliate colleges under the Tribhuvan University (TU) not to implement its fee-hike for students enrolled before December 4, 2009.

Hearing on a writ petition jointly filed by 13 student unions a joint bench of SC justices Tahir Ali Ansari and Avadesh Kumar Yadav ordered TU affiliate colleges to implement the decision only to students enrolled after the mentioned date.

On December 4, 2009, the executive council of the university had hiked fee of all levels. It had started charging the revised fee to already enrolled students, too, following the decision.

Thirteen student unions affiliated to various colleges had moved court on June 2, 2010 saying fee-hike in the middle of an academic session was illegal.

Why not ?
People are paying tens of thousand for privet colleges why not to TU? It must raise it price to a certain level so students who are willing to go to will join otherwise it will be a students political forum and genuine students may not get admission.

I will say that SC's ruling is not fair to TU in comparison to privet colleges. It is not fair to have two different rules for students admitted in different dates.
